Printed postcards are one of the most cost-effective and versatile direct mail formats you can send. They’re perfect for promoting offers, announcing events, thanking customers, or driving online traffic with QR codes and discount codes.

Universal Design Guidelines

These best practices apply to all postcard sizes we print:

1. Bleed, Trim, and Safe Zones

To avoid white borders or cut-off content, always extend your background colors/images beyond the trim edge (bleed) and keep important text/logos inside the safe zone.
Exact dimensions for each size are listed in their individual guides.

2. Address Block Rules

Every postcard must have a clear area for USPS-required addressing and postage.
This section is built into our templates and must remain free of design elements.

3. Image Resolution & File Setup

  • Minimum resolution: 300 DPI for crisp printing.
  • File types: PDF, PNG, or JPEG under 10MB.
  • Our built-in DPI calculator checks your design in real time before printing.

4. Branding & Readability

  • Use high-contrast colors for text and calls-to-action.
  • Keep messaging simple and scannable — most readers glance for 3–5 seconds.
  • Place your CTA prominently (front or back) so it’s not missed.
